Job Description
Accounts: Check delinquent customer files to understand the debt amount, history, and reason for non-payment.
Make contact: Call, email, or send letters to customers to discuss their overdue bills.
Explain the debt: Clearly state how much is owed, when it was and what options are available.
Assess affordability: Ask about the customerâs income, expenses, and circumstances to determine what they can realistically pay.
Negotiate payment plans: Agree on manageable weekly or monthly instalments.
Update records: Log all conversations, agreements, and promises to pay in the companyâs system.
Follow up: Monitor whether agreed payments are made and take next steps if theyâre missed.
Escalate when needed: Pass complex or high-risk cases to supervisors or legal teamsâonly
